Michael Makin, President/CEO, Printing Industries of America
Michael Makin has been the President and CEO of Printing Industries of America since 2002. He serves as Secretary to the Graphic Arts Educational Research Foundation, and he is also President of the Printing and Graphics Scholarship Trust Fund (PGSF). Mr. Makin is a member of the American Society of Association Executives, the Pittsburgh Society of Association Executives, and the Society for Human Resource Management. He currently serves as the Chairman of the World Print and Communications Forum, based in Brussels.

Paul Cavanaugh, Manager of Service Skill Development, Heidelberg
Since he began in his role in 2007, Paul has developed training curriculums for field service technicians in North America. He also travels to vocational and technical schools to speak with students to hire new field service technicians for Heidelberg’s 3- year apprentice program.

- Discover how technology will transform growing older into a more vibrant period of life that’s about living better as much as it is about living longer. Additionally, this session will also touch on how this will affect companies who employ these individuals who will now be able to work longer.

Lawser provides clients with comprehensive retirement planning and asset management services. He is extensively involved in portfolio management research and analysis including screening research, following recommended stocks, and monitoring specific company forecasts and results. Lawser is the current investment advisor for PIAG.
Ryan Sullivan, Managing Director of Strategic Markets, Hartford Funds
Sullivan is a managing director of strategic markets for Hartford Funds. He travels extensively and is responsible for engaging and educating financial advisors and their clients about current and emerging opportunities in the financial services marketplace. Ryan attended Bucknell University and joined the organization in 1996.

- There are two unassailable facts within the printing industry: 1) larger firms do not enjoy higher margins than smaller firms; and 2) national and international printing firms, so called Majors continue to struggle in bringing the benefits of being big to their customers. Paul Reilly, a former CEO of, Cenveo, one of these Majors, will share his insights as to why independent firms and Majors have battled to a draw in competing for the loyalty of North American print buyers. In this session, learn what has worked and not worked for the Majors in competing against the more flexible independents as well as what has worked and not worked for the independent firms as they compete with the Majors.

Reilly has been in the industry for over 30 years and for the last nine years has been providing investment banking and financial advisory services for sellers and buyers, valuation services, financing and refinancing efforts, turnaround and restructuring services, and temporary/interim management consulting.
